The 2008 Faculty Technology Receptions

The Umbrella group is hosting the fourth annual Technology Receptions for University faculty this September and October. All faculty are welcome to attend - there will be wine and cheese tasting, door prizes, and an opportunity to meet your colleagues and technology partners.

Representatives from campus organizations will be on hand to answer your questions. You will have the opportunity to learn about Chalk, Library eReserves, the NSIT Solution Center, A/V services and multimedia classrooms, safe computing, support for research, online class lists and grading, and more.

Sample the fine wine and cheese pairings specially selected for the occasion. You will also be presented with a welcome gift and a chance to take home a bottle of your favorite wine from the tasting:

What is the Umbrella Initiative?

Four years ago, a number of campus technology organizations gathered to create a unique event to introduce faculty to the technology services available. The Umbrella Initiative includes a number of local support organizations, including: College Information Technology, Divinity School Technology Coordinator, Humanities Computing Services, Physical Sciences Desktop Support, Social Sciences Computing Services, the Office of the University Registrar, and the University of Chicago Library, as well as groups within Networking Services and Information Technologies: Academic Technologies, General Services, and the Solution Center.
